Bale Mountain National Park

The Bale Mountain National Park is situated in south west Ethiopia and offers a diverse range of habitats that are home to an amazing array of flora and fauna. It’s estimated that over 60% of all remaining Simien Wolves live in the park, as well as Mountain Nyala and Meneliks Bushbuck. The bird life is exceptional, boasting several endemic or rare species. The area has been little visited with a consequence that new species of reptiles and insects are still being discovered.

A visit to Bale can be added to our Classic Northern Circuit itinerary or combined with walking in the Simien Mountains - many of the images here are from the lovely Bale Mountain Lodge.
