Lagoon Camp lies on the shady banks of the Kwando River among tall ancient Ebony and Marula trees, under the watchful gaze of the resident hippos. It enjoys a most beautiful setting with its eight tented chalets (including one family unit) stretching out along the riverbank.
The shady, tree-lined environment of the camp hosts a great variety of bird life. A family of hippo and elephant are regularly sighted from the tents. This contributes to the relaxed calm that prevails at Lagoon. You will be warmly welcomed by the staff, and they will ensure you have a relaxing, peaceful stay.
The Kwando concession is the largest private concession in Botswana and Lagoon camp shares this area, famed for big game, with its sister property, Lebala, which sits south of Lagoon Camp. Wild dog sightings are a real highlight of a stay here, with excellent opportunity to also observe big cats - cheetah and lion in particular.
Tents lookout over the water and have private en-suite facilities, including 24 hour hot and cold running water, open-air showers, flush loo and modern amenities. Freshly prepared delicious meals are served in the thatched dining room overlooking the tranquil waters of the lagoon. There is a guest pool in which to cool off during the hot months.
Lagoon Camp offers a choice of four activities - you can game drive in the 4x4 custom safari vehicles, as well as enjoying the chance to off-road and try night game drives with a flashlight and tracker, you can join guided walks, try fishing and one of the real highlights is drifting along the river before sundown in the double decker safari boat which gently cruises the river giving sublime views of the habitat and its occupants!
