Combine the wilds of Samburu where herds of elephants browse the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River with the northern frontier of the Sera Conservancy with this brand new exciting fly-in safari staying at wonderful small Saruni lodges.
Saruni Rhino opened in February 2017 and offers a unique experience. Located in Sera Community Conservancy, in the wild, undiscovered northern frontier of Kenya, Saruni Rhino is currently a 1.5 hour drive from Saruni Samburu in the nearby Kalama Conservancy. Saruni Rhino offers the first rhino tracking experience in East Africa: an amazing walking safari that provides a uniquely thrilling adventure, but also allows guests to actively contribute to the protection of this iconic species.
Your stay helps to fund the Sera Community Conservancy (established 2015) by the Northern Rangelands Trust and community. Sera Community Conservancy is a vast, untouched wilderness of more than 350,000 hectares, larger than Luxembourg and Hong Kong combined. It is the first community conservancy in Africa to own and operate a sanctuary dedicated to the conservation of the critically endangered black rhino. The sanctuary currently provides state-of-the-art protection for 11 black rhinos relocated from Lewa Conservancy, Nakuru National Park and other areas. This move sees the rhino back in its natural habitat in northern Kenya after 30 years.Plan My Journey Speak To Us
