This is a truly wonderful tour taking in the incredible ancient temple complex at Angkor where you will have several days to explore the huge number of temples with your own private guide. It also includes watching the sunset over the temples which is an experience you will never forget!

You then head to Prek Tuol which is an important bird sanctuary and biosphere reserve based around the enormous Tonle Sap lake. You will go on a guided tour to see the wildlife (best time to go is Oct - March) and also to visit the traditional floating villages that can be found here.

Next you will get the chance to explore the vibrant and buzzy capital of Phnom Penh including a half day cycling tour before heading down the Mekong River by boat to Chau Doc in Vietnam. At Chau Doc you stay in a lovely hotel situated on the slopes of Mount Sam overlooking the Mekong valley with fabulous views and the chance to explore the villages and scenery of this area.

Finally you head off to Phu Quoc Island where you will have plenty of time to relax on the gorgeous white sandy beach at this lovely laid-back beach resort. A great way to end your tour and soak up that last bit of sunshine before heading home.


You will visit Prek Tuol Bird Sanctuary which is an important national conservation project where you will enjoy a guided tour looking at the wildlife and also visit the traditional floating villages where tourism is a vital source of income.

Safari Itinerary

DAY 1 - 4

On arrival at Siem Reap Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel where you have the rest of the day at leisure. Over the next couple of days you will be collected from your hotel after breakfast by your guide who will then take you sightseeing around the incredible UNESCO world heritage site of Angkor. You start at the ancient capital of Angkor Thom. In the afternoon the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. You will be able to stay long enough to experience sunset over Angkor Wat which is a wonderful experience! The following day you will visit to Ta Prohm, one of the area’s most beautiful temples, Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery. The next day you will drive to a fishing village near Siem Reap and board a private boat. You then cruise through the fishing villages of the Tonle Sap to the Biosphere Reserve of Prek Tuol. Visit Prek Tuol floating village and enjoy bird watching in the Bird Sanctuary. (Note: The best time to visit the bird sanctuary is from October to March.)

DAY 5 - 6

Phnom Penh
In the morning you will fly from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. After checking into your hotel you will go on a sightseeing tour with your guide. Visit the Independence Monument, the National Museum, the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda and the city’s namesake, Wat Phnom. The following day you will enjoy a half day group biking tour around Mekong Island which is a 25 km easy ride on mostly unpaved roads. You will take a boat across the Tonle Sap River and cycle north along the far bank of the river. This area is populated mainly by Cham communities. Take a ferry to cross to Koh Otnyahdei and take a gentle ride around this small Mekong Island with its fertile farmland and small village communities. In the afternoon you will be driven to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. You also visit the notorious Tuol Sleng Museum. Both are sombre reminders of Cambodia's troubled past. You then visit the Russian Market (Psah Tuol Thom Pong), a lively outdoor market and great for souvenir shopping.

DAY 7 - 9

Mekong Delta
This afternoon you will head to ransfer to Phnom Penh boat’s pier for boarding to Chau Doc in Vietnam. The cruise takes about 4 hours along the Mekong River. On arrival you will check in to your hotel. The following days are at leisure to explore the area and there are plenty of optional excursions you can do in the area including visiting temples and shrines or local nature reserves or just relaxing and soaking up the stunning views over the Mekong Delta from the hotel.
