Chobe, Victoria Falls and Hwange in style

Visiting three iconic destinations in Africa; Hwange and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and Chobe in Botswana, this 10 days trip stays in small exclusive camps and allows guests the opportunity to enjoy superb wildlife viewing as well as the chance to learn a more about conservation efforts locally.

Guests at The Elephant Camp have the chance to observe and learn about the Wild Horizon Elephant project based there. In Hwange there are a number of projects guests can learn about, which their stay will go some way to supporting. Wilderness Safaris is directly involved in The Hwange Water Supply project which involves the monitoring of boreholes in the park, the anti-poaching project which focuses on the southern boundary and the removal of snares, the Elephant Movement study, which aims to gain a better understanding of elephant movements and habitat use in Hwange, where elephant density is particularly high. Ten elephants have been collared and are being monitored. In addition there are community programmes in both Botswana and Zimbabwe, including school and village visits - please ask for details. On behalf of every client we make a donation to the Real Africa Trust. Specifically in these countries, the Trust has successfully funded an anti poaching dog for Zimbabwe's Save Valley and has raised enough funds to supply a new anti poaching dog squad for Rhino Conservation Botswana.

Safari Itinerary

DAY 1-3

Chobe, Botswana
On arrival at Kasane you will be met and transferred the short distance to the private Forest Reserve, overlooking the Chobe River. You have three days to explore this wonderful landscape from Ngoma Safari Lodge. Chobe National Park is home to a diverse array of wildlife including more elephants than anywhere else in Africa, often seen in huge herds, particularly in the dry season. Being in a private concession you have the benefit of day and night drives, walking safaris and forays in the national park. A joint community and privately funded project developed with the Chobe Enclave Conservation Trust (CECT), Ngoma Safari Lodge is committed to making a sustainable difference to the local communities and their environment - many locals are employed at the lodge and the communities directly benefit, receiving an income from every bed night booked.

DAY 4-6

Victoria Falls
Today you will transfer by road over the border to Zimbabwe, to The Elephant Camp, just beyond Victoria Falls. There's a host of included activities to enjoy from sundowners at Batoka Gorge, birding and nature walks in the private concession, village tours, visits to the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust (a non-profit organisation whose mission is to advance environmental conservation through hands-on wildlife research, the management of a veterinary laboratory and rehabilitation facility and the education of local peoples in the sustainable usage of natural resources), lunch at the wonderful Look Out Cafe and guided tours of the Falls and rainforest. The camp itself is small and exclusive with super views and stunning plunge pools. Guests also have the chance to observe and learn about the Wild Horizon elephants, based at the camp. There is also a resident cheetah, who was orphaned and rescued by the sanctuary. His name is Sylvester.

DAY 7-9

Hwange National Park
This morning you fly to a private concession in Hwange National Park for exciting game drives and walking safaris without the crowds. Enjoy 4x4 game drives, a visit to Ngamo village, time in the log pile hide or bush walks. You can also chat to Arnold when he is in camp, Wilderness Safaris Environmentalist. He can tell you more about all the various conservation projects in the area including the Hwange Water Supply project.
