DAY 1-2

Addis Ababa
On arrival after completing immigration, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to the Capital Hotel & Spa for your two night stay. Lunch and the rest of the day is at leisure with dinner at the Hotel. The next morning you will met by your private guide and private vehicle and take a full day guided city tour of Addis Ababa with lunch included. The tour encompasses visits to The National Museum, The Ethnological Museum, Trinity Cathedral and the Mercato, the largest open air market in Africa. Arrive back at the Capital Hotel in the afternoon then relax at leisure.


Lake Tana
This morning you will fly to Bahir Dar. In the Arrivals Hall you will meet your driver who will assist you to the vehicle. Drive to the Kuriftu Resort and Spa, set on the shores of Lake Tana, where you will check in and freshen up then drive to the jetty and take a boat trip on Lake Tana, Ethiopia’s largest body of water (3,600 square kilometres). You will visit the monasteries of Ura Kidane Mihret and Azwa Mariam which are found on the largest peninsular of the Lake. In the afternoon, drive to the town of Tiss Abay and walk about twenty minutes to visit the famous Blue Nile Falls. The Falls plunge 45 metres into the River Nile below, giving rise to stream clouds, ‘smoke for fire’, which is known locally as ‘Tiss Issat’. Back to the Kuriftu Resort where you will have time to relax before dinner and overnight stay.


After breakfast, depart from Lake Tana and take a step back in time whilst driving through the fascinating countryside of beautiful landscape and people to Gondar. Arrive at the Taye Hotel, check in and enjoy lunch. After lunch, afternoon tour of Gondar (UNESCO World Heritage site). Visit the Bath of Emperor Fasilidas, the Church of Quskuam Mariam (17th century), the Church of Debre Birhan Sillassie which is famous for its wall and ceiling paintings, and the residence of Empress Mintewab. Back to the hotel and enjoy time at leisure before dinner and overnight stay

Flight prices from the UK start from £650 per person depending on the time of year you travel and the offers available. We can easily arrange international flights for you if required - our airline partners offer special rates throughout the year so please contact us so we can provide an accurate tailor-made costing based on your travel dates and preferences.

Please note that a visa is required for Ethiopia. The cost is US$50.00 per person (subject to change) and can be obtained on arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport or can be purchased in advance from the Ethiopian Embassy for a cost of £35 (subject to change).
