This is a fantastic week long drive-in safari combining two of Tanzania's most famous wildlife areas, but where possible, skirting the crowds. Stay in a small tented camp in acacia woodland on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, travelling in your own 4x4 vehicle with driver/guide, before exploring the highlands enroute to the southern plains of the Serengeti where the wildebeest calve in January/February time.
Wildebeest calving is one of the world's great wildlife spectacles and this area of the Serengeti is home to the densest concentration of predators in Africa at this time of the year.
This safari is ideal between January and March. For travel June to November, the wildebeest have moved on and you need to be further north - please see Lemala: Crater & Plains (NORTH) safari itinerary.
The Real Africa Trust works with leading conservation organisations to raise awareness as well as raising funds for specific projects. Partners include Save the Elephants, Save the Rhino, The Sheldrick Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana and Animals saving Animals. You can find out more on our Conservation pages. On behalf of every client travelling, Real Africa makes a donation to the Trust. Clients travelling on this northern circuit safari can also witness some of the work we do in the community if they wish, by visiting one of the schools we support in the Ngorongoro Highlands - please ask if you would like to pay the school a visit.Plan My Journey Speak To Us
