Bandos is a relaxed resort on a small island, perfectly suited for families with excellent facilities, spacious bedrooms and a gorgeous beach. Lapped by the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean, the island of Bandos is blissfully marooned a world away from the hurly-burly of daily life.
For those travelling with young children you will appreciate the short transfer times as Bandos is only 10 minutes from Malé International Airport.
This relaxed and friendly resort has a total of 215 rooms ranging from standard rooms through deluxe up to villas and water villas. There is also a range of dining options and plenty of leisure activities if you can tear yourself off the beach. There is also an excellent kids club so your youngsters will be entertained while you relax. There is also a fresh water swimming pool, with a shallow wading pool for small children, as well as the Orchid Spa for revitalising Asian therapies and an on site medical centre.
Guests have the benefit of their own award winning and long established Dive Centre with professional staff who will guide you on an exploration of the spectacular underwater world of the Maldives. The resort boasts one of the best house reefs in the Maldives which means you all have easy access to the stunning marine life on the reef. The resort has a resident biologist who studies the reef and advises how best to look after it, there is a shark breeding prog and an abundance of black tip baby sharks around the island. There are also regular excursions to see the manta rays which are an important endangered species.
Other excursions included sunset dolphin cruises, sandbank picnics, glass bottom boat trips, whale shark excursions, island hopping and sport fishing.
You may not have thought of the Maldives for a summer holiday but the weather is still pretty good and the prices much lower. May to July and September to November tend to have slightly higher rainfall and some cloud, but there is still plenty of sunshine and heat with short-lived downpours. Also June to October is the best time to see the manta rays.
If you would like to spend longer in the Maldives we can organise a two centre or island hopping holiday - please ask for details.
