What does a typical day on safari look like?
5.30am Wakeup call heralds the dawn. Meet for a drink and snack as the sun rises. Morning game drive follows.
9.30am Return to camp for a hearty breakfast followed by down-time – watch wildlife from camp, read, siesta. Some camps have a pool, library, safari spa/gym or they offer additional activities.
1pm Lunch.
3-4pm Meet for afternoon tea followed by game drive. In private conservancies, a cool box accompanies you, permitting a sundowner stop out on the plains. In most national parks you’ll have to wait for your G&T until returning to camp where you usually need to be back by sundown.
630pm As the sun sinks, return to camp (or spot nocturnal animals with a flashlight after dark). Freshen up and meet in the safari bar, with supper following. Sit around the camp fire under the night sky.
Please note times and activities vary according to season/camp.
