Caprivi Strip/Zambezi Region

This region is the wettest in Namibia, with the main rains falling November to March. You’ll find a humid, tropical climate with swamps, wetland, woods and floodplains. The strip shares borders with Angola, Zambia and Botswana and is known for prolific wildlife including big game such as buffalo and elephant.

The Okavango, Kwando, Linyanti and Chobe rivers all eventually feed into the mighty Zambezi and give this area its lifeblood.

There are several reserves and three national parks. The largest is Bwabwata, but game viewing is restricted to the road so you may not see much! Mudumu is great for bird watching with 430 species and Nkasa Rupara (formerly Mamili) most closely resembles the Okavango Delta with river channels and islands to explore. This area borders the Linyanti and Selinda Concessions in Botswana.
