Guide George Masai’s winning images from recent April Mara safari

  • 1st May 2014
  • Sara

Congratulations to George Masai, one of our guides in Kenya, who took this wonderful series of images while on safari with our MD Rob this April.

Baby Encounter

Although April marks the start of the long rains in Kenya’s Masai Mara it is still a great time to visit – one of the bonuses is that many baby animals are born at this time. This little elephant was rather inquisitive and came a bit closer for a look while the hyena pups were incredibly playful and even climbed on the steps on the 4×4 at one stage.

Cheetah Walk

The two young cheetahs can be seen marking their territory with topi looking on in the background before taking a snooze in the morning sun.

Buffalo Action
While on a game drive in the Masai Mara, the crew came across a herd of buffalo. Two young males were battling for the attention of a female…who in the process wanders off! The picture sequence really captures the ferocity of the blows which are exchanged between the males.
