The best way to enjoy Africa and everything it has to offer

Africa is a continent that can offer any type of holiday you desire – from adventurous trekking to relaxing by the pool with a cocktail. Home to 54 nations, there is plenty to discover on your travels.

Traveling there may take a little longer than a trip to Europe, but it will be worth it when you step off the plane into the warm, welcoming heat. If you are looking to splash out and take a private jet, then look into empty leg flights that offer the luxury of a private jet but at a cheaper price.

Serenity in Zimbali

Less than an hour’s drive from Durban is the Zimbali Estate. A forest estate that is located on South Africa’s coastline, you will find that this resort offers something for everyone. Designed to be eco-friendly, Zimbali focuses on the balance between its guests, the wildlife, and the incredible local flora.

If you are a family, the Valley of the Pools is a must-visit. With 5 pools overlooking the Indian Ocean, there is plenty of room to play and enjoy the water. There is a restaurant nearby that offers light meals as well as a Pizza Outlet. This is the perfect place for a family to spend the day.

Safari in the Serengeti

If you sneak a peak at someone’s bucket list, chances are going on a safari makes an appearance. Home to the Great Migration, it is easy to see why the Serengeti has inspired filmmakers and artists alike.

Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage Site packed to the brim with wildlife. For a unique way to view the vast landscape, you could take part in a hot air balloon safari. Just imagine the calm as you float across the desert, spotting animals going about their day below you. If the Great Migration is something you simply have to see, booking a balloon flight between December and March in the Ndutu area is your best chance – although you will have to have luck on your side as well!

Food in Cape Town

Cape Town is a foodie’s paradise. A melting pot of different cultures such as Cape Dutch, Japanese, and French, means your tastebuds will be tantalized wherever you go. If you love seafood, Cape Town’s location on the southern tip of Africa means there is plenty available.

Look out for traditional South African braai, which is barbecue. A braai is traditionally cooking food over an open flame. Anything can be cooked on a braai and the flavors are incredible.

Climb Kilimanjaro

If adventure is the thing that draws you to Africa, there is no bigger adventure than climbing Kilimanjaro. Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest peak and the highest free-standing mountain in the world, so there is ample opportunity for you to fall in love with Tanzania as you climb.

There are a few different routes you can take to the summit, but all reach the incredible view of the Serengeti below. You could always plan a safari after your epic climb to see the desert from a different perspective.

Camping in Kenya

The Masai Mara National Reserve houses plenty of options when it comes to staying in the heart of the desert. If you are looking for the height of luxury whilst camping then check out Angama Mara.

Located in the middle of the Mara Triangle, there are great views of the Great Rift Valley and the Mara plains. Imagine laying in the infinity pool, watching the elephants go past with a beautiful sunset framing them.
