Designed around the original plantation houses and keeping its sense of history the hotel has also been completely renovated to achieve the highest standards of comfort. The décor is luxuriant and stylish with undertones of the bygone days of early exploration. There are log fires, antiques and wood panelling which hark back to colonial times and the elegance of the day.
With an emphasis on fine cuisine in an opulent setting, guests can enjoy an extensive evening restaurant menu, a spit–roast lunchtime grill or the ‘comfort classics’ menu featuring everyone’s favourites in the Safari Bar.
Each of the 30 plantation houses has been lavishly furnished and features a split level living area and private deck. The lodge also boasts a coffee shop, patisserie, hair and beauty salon, a range of boutique shops and galleries and a swimming pool.
A wonderful place to recover from, or prepare for, a flight, there is plenty of indoor and outdoor space to relax in, including a swimming pool. For those who want to explore there is a one hour tour of the coffee estate you can undertake, learning how the beans are grown, harvested and prepared.
