This lovely hotel in Gisenyi makes for a fantastic relaxing stopover on busy tour visiting the gorillas and other primates of Rwanda. There are tropical gardens, sandy beaches and lovely accommodation making it a very relaxing place to stay. The hotel sits right on the white sandy shores of Lake Kivu which is more like an inland sea being the sixth largest lake in Africa. The hotel is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and the rooms either have lake or garden views. It is only a couple of hours drive from both the Rwandan capital and from the glorious Volcanoes National Park where you go gorilla trekking.
The hotel is part of the well known Serena chain and has 66 luxury hotel rooms, executive suites and also some family accommodation. There is a private white sandy beach, a panoramic restaurant with fabulous lake views, indoor and beachside bars, a luxury swimming pool, and the ‘Maisha' Health Centre.
