This classic tented camp offers a touch of luxury amidst the wilderness. The camp sits on the eastern edge of the Selinda Spillway in the 320,00-acre Selinda Reserve of northern Botswana. The location makes it a fantastic base for water based safaris.
The Spillway itself is an ancient waterway linking the Okavango Delta in the south to the Linyanti wetland in the west and is a great camp to combine within a safari circuit of the region. This is a remote region, little visited and offering pristine wilderness. To the south lies the Okavango, to the west, the Linyanti wetlands, Savute Channel and wide expanses of Chobe beyond that. Vast herds of elephant and buffalo can be seen here while it the reserve is also home to the endangered wild dog.
Selinda Camp is a natural start or end point for the amazing Selinda Canoe Trail. The Selinda Canoe Trail is a four night seasonal camping and canoe safari trail along the pristine waters of the Selinda Spillway, giving you the opportunity to see the wildlife from a different perspective and the chance to truly immerse yourself in the environment.
This is a fantastic place for game viewing but also for soaking up the vastness of the African scenery, the incredible night skies and the peace and quiet of the Okavango waterways. The camp is a 45 minute 4x4 transfer from the local airstrip and can only be reached by guests by scheduled flight or private air charter - approximately a 45 minute flight from Kasane or Maun. During the annual flooding of the Spillway, the transfer to camp is done by 4x4 and boat!
