Classic Zim: Victoria Falls, Hwange & Mana Pools

This exciting safari begins in the world famous Victoria Falls, before moving on to contrasting safari areas.

First is Zimbabwe's largest park - Hwange National Park, where herds famously congregate at waterholes or 'pans' attracting the lions of Hwange, who are well-known!

Then it's off to the remote and beautiful Mana Pools on the Zambezi where you have the chance to see further incredible wildlife, including the famous big bull eles that this region is known for.

The Real World Conservation Trust (formerly Real Africa Trust) works with leading conservation organisations to raise awareness as well as raising funds for specific projects. Partners include Save the Elephants, Save the Rhino, The Sheldrick Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana and Animals saving Animals. You can find out more on our Conservation pages. On behalf of every client travelling, Real Africa makes a donation to the Trust. Our aim is to raise awareness about the plight of endangered species and to promote sustainable, socially responsible travel which benefits the wildlife and communities you choose to visit. The Trust's current campaign, Explorers against Extinction has successfully raised enough money to fund a brand new canine unit for RCB. Two pups were trained with Animals saving Animals and deployed to Botswana in summer 2018 as rhino protection dogs. Visit our News and Conservation pages for more info!

Safari Itinerary

DAY 1-2

Victoria Falls
On arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. The following day, enjoy a tour of the Victoria Falls. Most visitors come to see the falls, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the world’s largest curtain of falling water. There are many good walks for exploring the Falls and there are also various boat trips and guided tours you can take.

DAY 3-5

Linkwasha Concession - Hwange National Park
This morning you will transfer to your lodge in the Linkwasha Concession, one of the most prolific wildlife areas in Hwange National Park. Activities over the next few days include guided bush walks accompanied by qualified and professional guides, as well as game drives. Hwange National Park: A haven for over 100 mammals and 400 bird species, the park protects populations of all of Zimbabwe’s endangered species, elephants numbering in excess of 20,000 (up from around 4,000 when the park was proclaimed), and what is thought to be one of the largest populations of African wild dog left in the world. Large prides of lion and buffalo are frequently seen here and you have a good chance of spotting leopard and rhino in addition to cheetah and spotted hyena. The wild and woolly brown hyena also occurs here and is something of a rarity.

DAY 6-8

Mana Pools
This morning, transfer to Mana Pools. You will spend the next few days enjoying guided game drives in open 4x4, safari walks and canoe safaris. Mana Pools National Park: The life-giving power of the Zambezi River makes Mana Pools National Park one of Zimbabwe’s most lush and flourishing regions, designated as the country’s second World Heritage Site and known as one of the continent’s premier game-viewing regions. Canoe trips are offered year-round and provide a unique and memorable way for visitors to experience the area’s striking scenic beauty and diverse fauna, while guided walks are a great way to take its pristine riverside forests.
