Exceptional Uganda Group Safari Tour 2020

This is the longer version of our Classic Uganda group safari tour as it also visits the beautiful Murchison Falls and its national park. Starting in Entebbe you visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls, Hoima, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where you will go gorilla trekking. This tour includes all the main wildlife highlights in Uganda including chimp trekking, boat safaris on Lake Mburo and the Kazinga Channel and plenty of game drives to see both big game and small; hippos, rhinos, elephants, lion, antelope, birds and much more.

The Real World Conservation Trust (formerly Real Africa Trust) works with leading conservation organisations to raise awareness as well as raising funds for specific projects. Partners include Save the Elephants, Save the Rhino, The Sheldrick Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana and Animals saving Animals. You can find out more on our Conservation pages. On behalf of every client travelling, Real Africa makes a donation to the Trust. Our aim is to raise awareness about the plight of endangered species and to promote sustainable, socially responsible travel which benefits the wildlife and communities you choose to visit. For example, the money from your gorilla trekking permit goes straight back into the national park and preserving the habitat as well as anti-poaching efforts and education programmes.

DAY 2 - 3

Murchison Falls National Park
An early morning start will enable you to begin your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. En route you will visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You will have the opportunity to observe the rhinos at a very close and safe distance. You then head on via the Paraa Ferry to Murchison Falls Protected Area (MFPA) comprised of Murchison Falls National Park, Bugungu and Karuma Wildlife Reserves. The park derives its name from Murchison Falls where the mighty River Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and flows down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes. The vegetation is characterised by savannah, riverine forest and woodland. Wildlife includes lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda Kobs, chimpanzees and many bird species including the rare shoebill. On Day 3 you will get the chance to go on a game drive through the park in the morning to see all the Big Five except rhino. In the afternoon you will go on a boat trip on the River Nile to the foot of Murchison Falls a spectacular sight!

DAY 4 -5

Kibale Forest
Your next stop is the lush tropical rainforest and fascinating diversity of animals of Kibale National Park (KNP), one of the most beautiful and stunning forests in Uganda. En route you will visit the Booma Women's group an important community project. Kibale Forest is certainly worth protecting as it is home to the largest number the very endangered chimpanzee, as well as the threatened red Colobus monkey and the rare L’hoest‘s monkey. The forest has one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totalling 13 species including the black and white Colobus, blue monkey and grey-cheeked mangabey, red tailed monkey, bush babies and pottos. While you are here you will go chimpanzee tracking on the morning of Day 5 and enjoy a birdwalk in Bigodi Swamp also on Day 5.
