Kenya Fly-in: Ultimate Elephant

If you love elephants then this is an incredible, diverse and very special safari. Observe elephants in three different habitats and learn about them with a visit to the Save the Elephant Research Centre in Samburu. You also have the chance to add a visit to the Sheldrick Trust elephant nursery and learn about their rescue and rehabilitation work - please do ask for details if of interest.

This trip is not all about elephants, you'll also have the opportunity to see a whole range of endangered wildlife from giraffe to lion while enjoying three different styles of accommodation. First stop is Ol Donyo, a beautiful lodge in the quiet Chyulu Hills above lush Amboseli. Next is a tiny tented camp, Elephant Watch, right on the river in the arid north of Samburu. Last is Rekero, a traditional tented camp in the Mara Confluence area of the Masai Mara.

The Real World Conservation Trust fosters a baby elephant, in the care of the Sheldrick Trust, on behalf of every group of clients visiting Kenya. We have just donated nearly $23,000 to the Trust thanks to our Explorers campaign - enough to fund more than 11 elephant rescues. If you would like to visit your elephant during your stay in Kenya then please let us know so we can make necessary arrangements. In addition you will be able to visit the Save the Elephants Research centre during your time in Samburu. Real Africa has raised over £17,000 to date for STE through their fund-raising. If you would like to extend your time at the centre with STE researchers, then please let us know. Ol Donyo is part of Great Plains Conservation and operates a number of community and out reach programmes. Rekero is part of the Asilia group and are involved in both the Mara Lion and Mara cheetah projects.
