This is a classic fly-in safari exploring different areas of Botswana, from the lush island scape of the Okavango Delta, including the Moremi Game Reserve to the arid Central Kalahari Game Reserve. You stay in a combination of different Ker and Downey safari camps including the brand new Dinaka Camp, which opened in March 2018, the perfect setting for guests to experience the unique adaptations of the Kalahari.

We love this classic itinerary because it allows you to try a range of land and water activities from 4x4 safaris to boat trips. Both Kanana and Okuti are currently ranked No 1 on Trip Advisor and Kanana which will re-open in April 2019 following refurbishment, also offers a novel experience - a night under the stars on the sleep-out deck.

The Real World Conservation Trust works with leading conservation organisations to raise awareness as well as raising funds for specific projects. Partners include Save the Elephants, Save the Rhino, The Sheldrick Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana and Animals saving Animals. You can find out more on our Conservation pages. On behalf of every client travelling, Real Africa makes a donation to the Trust. We are incredibly excited to have raised enough funds for two triple role rhino protection dogs for Rhino Conservation Bostwana - they are currently in training and will be deployed in summer 2018. Ker & Downey, as part of its social responsibility programme supports Bana Ba Letsatsi (which means Children of the sun), a charity that was established in 2004 with the mission of supporting vulnerable, orphaned and at risk children living in Maun. Ker & Downey donate a percentage of each safari to the charity.

Safari Itinerary

DAY 1 - 2

On arrival in Maun Airport you will be met and assisted onto your light aircraft flight to Dinaka Airstrip. On arrival at the airstrip you are met and transferred to Dinaka. You will spend the next few days exploring the Central Kalahari Game Reserve with its wonderful wildlife and scenery. Located on a private reserve guests are able to explore this desert landscape by vehicle or on foot. The photographic hides and bunkers provide vantage points overlooking waterholes that attract a variety of wildlife and birds. Those looking for further adventure can spend a night at the Sleep Out Deck under a star-studded sky.

DAY 3 - 4

Okavango Delta
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight onto your next destination at Kanana. On arrival at the airstrip you will be met and transferred to Kanana Camp. This is a small tented camp situated deep in the Okavango Delta. This 6,000 square mile maze of lagoons, channels and islands is an incredible wilderness teeming with wildlife and is a perfect contrast to Dinaka. Here guests are able to enjoy the magnificence of the Okavango waterways and the rich wildlife that concentrates on the palm fringed islands. 2017 has seen a significant number of big cats on the concession with numerous lion sightings being enjoyed. A coalition of young males was recently spotted 'engaging' with the females of the resident Kanana pride.

DAY 5 - 6

Moremi Game Reserve
Again after breakfast you will be transferred onto your next destination. Camp Okuti offers unusual lagoon-side, reed roofed safari chalets on raised teak decks and a choice of two game viewing activities a day. Game drives are in open vehicles where an abundance of large mammals can be seen, while powerboat excursions head towards the upper delta. This is a fabulous camp to spend your last couple of nights in the Okavango.
