Luxury Zim: Victoria Falls, Hwange & Mana Pools

This wonderful safari begins in the world famous Victoria Falls. You can hear the thunder of the falls from your lodge, located just 8 minutes away.

You then head off on safari, beginning in Hwange National Park, in the extreme west on the border with Botswana.

The park, home to spectacular wildlife and reputed to be Zimbabwe's best game viewing destination, is surrounded by community land and a visit here is also a chance to understand complex human/wildlife co-existence issues.

You then fly to the wilds of Mana Pools on the Zambezi. A jaw-dropping landscape provides the stage for the next 3 nights as you explore on foot, in vehicles and by boat.

This trip gives you an opportunity to see parks/reserves in Zimbabwe with contrasting topography. The icing on the cake is the chance to stay in some truly remarkable properties.

Safari Itinerary

DAY 1-2

Victoria Falls
On arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. The following day, enjoy a tour of the Victoria Falls. Most visitors come to see the falls, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the world’s largest curtain of falling water. There are many good walks for exploring the Falls and there are also various boat trips and guided tours you can take.

DAY 3-5

Somalisa Concession - Hwange National Park
This morning you will transfer to your lodge in the Somalisa Concession set in the heart of Hwange National Park Zimbabwe. Activities over the next few days include guided bush walks accompanied by qualified and professional guides, as well as game drives. Hwange National Park is a haven for over 100 mammals and 400 bird species, the park protects populations of all of Zimbabwe’s endangered species, elephants numbering in excess of 20,000 (up from around 4,000 when the park was proclaimed), and what is thought to be one of the largest populations of African wild dog left in the world. Large prides of lion and buffalo are frequently seen here and you have a good chance of spotting leopard and rhino in addition to cheetah and spotted hyena. The wild and woolly brown hyena also occurs here and is something of a rarity.

DAY 6-8

Mana Pools
This morning, transfer to Mana Pools. You will spend the next few days enjoying guided game drives in open 4x4, safari walks and canoe safaris. Mana Pools National Park: The life-giving power of the Zambezi River makes Mana Pools National Park one of Zimbabwe’s most lush and flourishing regions, designated as the country’s second World Heritage Site and known as one of the continent’s premier game-viewing regions. Canoe trips are offered year-round and provide a unique and memorable way for visitors to experience the area’s striking scenic beauty and diverse fauna, while guided walks are a great way to take its pristine riverside forests.
