A perfect balance of bush and beach, this trip takes you to two of Malawi's prime attractions staying at Robin Pope lodges throughout: Majete Widlife Reserve and Lake Malawi.
You start with 3 nights in Majete on safari with twice daily game drives as well as bush walks and boating safaris on offer. There is a wonderful selection of wildlife in Majete including elephant, black rhino and zebra. This is the only place in Malawi where you can see the Big Five.
You then head off to the spectacularly beautiful Lake Malawi. David Livingstone famously named Lake Malawi “The Lake of Stars” and for good reason, during the day the light dances across the deep blue water and once the sun has set the stars twinkle brightly both in the sky but also on the lake as the fishermen light up their hurricane lamps for their night on the lake. It is a truly beautiful place and a fantastic destination for swimming, scuba diving or just relaxing on the sandy beaches.
The Real World Conservation Trust (formerly Real Africa Trust) works with leading conservation organisations to raise awareness as well as raising funds for specific projects. Partners include Save the Elephants, Save the Rhino, The Sheldrick Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana and Animals saving Animals. Our most recent Explorers Against Extinction Campaign raised £60k for African Parks and Flora and Fauna International. You can find out more on our Conservation pages. African Parks are a non-profit organisation who run Majete, Liwonde and Nkhotakota parks in Malawi. They have done an incredible job turning these parks from barren wildernesses into thriving wildlife reserves. Their work to restore the wildlife and habitats means that now you can find the Big Five in Majete, abundant birdlife and rare species such as the black rhino across Malawi. They have also been involved in huge projects such as the elephant translocation programme and thanks to them Malawi has now become a beacon in wildlife conservation. On behalf of every client travelling, Real Africa makes a donation to the Trust. Our aim is to raise awareness about the plight of endangered species and to promote sustainable, socially responsible travel which benefits the wildlife and communities you choose to visit.Plan My Journey Speak To Us
