This fascinating trip allows you to get up close to Africa's iconic species. First you stay at the wonderful Giraffe Manor where you can breakfast with endangered Rothschild's Giraffes before you head into the heart of the Masai Mara to Sala's Camp, a wonderful riverside tented camp in a prime wildlife area, famous for its big cats, and in an excellent position for the Great Migration between late June and September. On your return to Nairobi at the end of the tour you will also get the chance to visit the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.
The Safari Collection is heavily focused on sustainability and giving back with a low impact, community and conservation orientated ethos. Specific projects include the Mara Cheetah Project, using a research-driven conservation approach through a combination of long-term population monitoring, ecological research and community-based conservation. Sala's guides are at the core of the monitoring programme, taking images and identifying individuals for the Kenya Wildlife Service. You will also have the chance to find out about the Rothschild Giraffe project at Giraffe Manor. The Real World Conservation Trust (formerly Real Africa Trust) works with leading conservation organisations to raise awareness as well as raising funds for specific projects. Partners include Save the Elephants, Save the Rhino, The Sheldrick Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana and Animals saving Animals. You can find out more on our Conservation pages. On behalf of every client travelling, Real Africa makes a donation to the Trust. Our aim is to raise awareness about the plight of endangered species and to promote sustainable, socially responsible travel which benefits the wildlife and communities you choose to visit.
