Masai Mara Fly-In: National Reserve (Governors' Camps)

This fly-in safari to the Masai Mara celebrates wildlife, giving you five wonderful days at Governors' Camps to see as much as possible. Choose from Main Camp, Little Governors (pictured) and the newly renovated Il Moran Camp, all based on a wonderful stretch of river close to the famous Musiara Marsh area in the main reserve, with its superb big cat population. The camps are surrounded by a wooded area, popular with the Mara elephant herds. Elephants and also giraffe can often be seen wandering through camp.

The Real World Conservation Trust donated nearly $23,000 in 2017 to the Sheldrick Trust in Kenya - enough to fund more than 11 elephant rescues. If you would like to visit during your stay in Kenya then please let us know so we can make necessary arrangements. The Real World Conservation Trust (formerly Real Africa Trust) works with leading conservation organisations to raise awareness as well as raising funds for specific projects. Partners include Save the Elephants, Save the Rhino, The Sheldrick Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana and Animals saving Animals. You can find out more on our Conservation pages. On behalf of every client travelling, Real Africa makes a donation to the Trust. Our aim is to raise awareness about the plight of endangered species and to promote sustainable, socially responsible travel which benefits the wildlife and communities you choose to visit.

Safari Itinerary

DAY 1-5

Masai Mara
In the morning fly from Nairobi Wilson to the Masai Mara Governors airstrip. The main camp and also the far smaller Il Moran sit on wonderful meanders in the river while Little Governors is reached by a small boat across the river and faces a beautiful marsh area where elephant and giraffe are regular visitors. Each camp has a different feel to it. You have five days to really explore this area from the golden plains where cheetah and plain games can be seen to the wooded areas around the river - leopard territory. Elephants move freely between the forest and plains and can be seen in large family herds - a real highlight. Look out for Blossom the elephant - a regular visitor in camp. Also look out for the warthog brothers at check-in! We think this fly-in safari would be perfect in combination with a few days on the beach - please ask for details.

Return to Nairobi
After your morning game drive and breakfast, check out. You will be transferred to the airstrip for your mid morning flight back to Nairobi. You will then be transferred to the Eka Hotel, conveniently close to the airport, where a day room will be waiting for you. Enjoy the pool and bar and relax before your flight home. Our driver will collect you at a pre-arranged time and deliver you to the international airport later.
