Northern Explorer - Fly-Drive Safari Uganda

This journey offers an authentic wilderness experience. Explore the wild north of Uganda, visiting Kidepo Valley and Murchison Falls National Parks.

Kidepo is Uganda's most isolated national park nestled in semi-arid valleys between Uganda's borders with Kenya and Sudan and home to the Karamojong hunter-gatherer people. Gazetted as a national park in 1962, it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species.

The park contains two rivers – Kidepo and Narus – which disappear in the dry season, leaving seasonal pools and wetland for the wildlife to congregate around. Apoka is in the centre of the park and offers your typical savannah landscape leading to the seasonal oases of the surrounding Narus Valley - this is where you'll find premier wildlife viewing.

From Kidepo you travel east through Gulu to beautiful Murchison Falls and the River Nile. Here you can spend time on the shores of the Nile, hike along the river at Murchison Falls and enjoy superb game viewing in this scenic park.

Return to Entebbe, stopping at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary enroute.

The Real World Conservation Trust works with leading conservation organisations to raise awareness as well as raising funds for specific projects through our Explorers Against Extinction campaign. This years campaigns are raising money for the Ape Alliance, Giraffe Conservation Foundation, Painted Dog Conservation and in Asia the Mariamma Charitable Trust. You can find out more about our exciting current projects on our Conservation pages including how we raised almost £60k for African Parks and Flora and Fauna International in 2018. Previous partners have included Save the Elephants, Save the Rhino, The Sheldrick Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana and Animals saving Animals. On behalf of every client travelling, Real Africa makes a donation to the Trust. Our aim is to raise awareness about the plight of endangered species and to promote sustainable, socially responsible travel which benefits the wildlife and communities you choose to visit.
