SAFARI & BEACH BAREFOOT: Masai Mara Serian Safari and the Indian Ocean

This is a superb holiday combining 5 nights on safari in the Masai Mara with 4 nights on the beach. On safari you stay at Alex Walker's superb Serian camps, spending 3 nights in the original tented camp high above the Mara River in Mara North Conservancy and then a following 2 further nights by a salt lick at the riverside Nkorombo mobile camp. All game drives during your safari are operated on an exclusive basis in a Serian 4x4 custom safari vehicle with spotter and guide. You can also enjoy walks, night drives, bush dining and sundowners.

You then fly to Ukunda, the airstrip for beautiful Diani Beach, and a stay at the glorious Kinondo Kwetu.

This trip works really well in combination and would make a superb honeymoon or special safari/beach holiday. The properties work really well together with rooms at Serian and Kinondo Kwetu all individual and a bit quirky, hence using 'barefoot' in the title.

As part of our Explorers against Extinction initiative we will foster an elephant on your behalf. You will have the chance to visit this elephant at the Sheldrick Trust to whom we have just donated nearly $23,000 - enough to fund more than 11 elephant rescues. In addition Serian is heavily committed to community and wildlife conservation. Their camps are within the private Mara North Conservancy, a partnership between 800 Maasai landowners and 11 member camps/lodges. They work closely with a number of important projects, for example Mara Lion and Cheetah projects and the Mara Elephant Project. You will be able to find out about these projects during your safari. The Real World Conservation Trust (formerly Real Africa Trust) works with leading conservation organisations to raise awareness as well as raising funds for specific projects. Partners include Save the Elephants, Save the Rhino, The Sheldrick Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana and Animals saving Animals. You can find out more on our Conservation pages. On behalf of every client travelling, Real Africa makes a donation to the Trust. Our aim is to raise awareness about the plight of endangered species and to promote sustainable, socially responsible travel which benefits the wildlife and communities you choose to visit.
