This is a wonderful family bush and beach holiday taking you on safari in the world famous Masai Mara and then onto the beach at Diani.
Accommodation has been selected as being ideal for a wider family group, or a family with teens perhaps, using family tents on safari and a beach house at Diani.
We have based the pricing of this trip on 4 adults and 2 children under 12 years travelling together but can easily adapt it to suit your family. This trip would also work well for friends travelling together.
You can extend your stay in the Masai Mara, or at the beach - please ask. Some camps in the Mara offer a 4 for 3 special offer at certain times of year.
You fly into your safari camp meaning that you maximise your time and start your trip with an exciting bird's eye view over the Masai Mara. Once in camp you have twice daily private game drives, on an exclusive basis, with your own guide in a 4x4 safari vehicle. Spend your time looking for the famous Big Five and in between relaxing at this lovely riverside safari camp which also has a pool.
You then head off to the white sandy beaches and warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean at Diani Beach. You spend 5 nights in your own beach house, right on the white sands of Diani.
Choose from Waterlovers - a self contained beach house for up to eight people, within the grounds of a small stylish beach lodge by the same name, with its own restaurant and bar, or upgrade to the luxurious fully staffed and catered Alfajiri Villas.
We offer many lovely beach lodges at Diani including Kinondo Kwetu, Afrochic and the simpler Pinewood all on this stretch of beach and all very different - please do ask for details so we can find the right property for you based on your preferences and budget.
We favour Diani in combination with the Masai Mara as there is a very good daily direct flight from the Mara airstrips to Diani Ukunda airstrip - very convenient - all the beach properties tend to be within a 10-20 minute drive of the airstrip, however we do have properties on other areas of the coast so if you have a preference do let us know (Zanzibar in Tanzania, Lamu, Watamu, Mombasa).
We can also book accommodation in Nairobi for you - this is often essential on arrival or departure, depending on your international flight schedule. We love to stay a night in Nairobi National Park - fabulous for seeing black rhino and lion. You can also miss the famous Nairobi traffic by doing this and enjoy game drives to and from the airport instead. A stop in Nairobi also gives an opportunity for guests to visit The Sheldrick Trust elephant rescue, rehab and release project.
The Real World Conservation Trust (formerly Real Africa Trust) works with leading conservation organisations to raise awareness as well as raising funds for specific projects. Partners include Save the Elephants, Save the Rhino, The Sheldrick Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana and Animals saving Animals. You can find out more on our Conservation pages. On behalf of every client travelling, Real Africa makes a donation to the Trust. Our aim is to raise awareness about the plight of endangered species and to promote sustainable, socially responsible travel which benefits the wildlife and communities you choose to visit.Plan My Journey Speak To Us
