If you are interested in watching elephants and learning more about them as well as the battle to protect them then a stay at Elephant Watch Camp in Samburu should certainly be on your wish list. The camp, owned by the Douglas-Hamilton family has ties with the charity Save the Elephants and as part of your stay you can visit the research centre which is really fascinating. As well as the guides knowing all the elephants, the elephants seem to know the guides and the camp vehicles which means you can enjoy some very special close encounters. You then fly to the iconic Masai Mara for a stay at Kicheche in the exclusive Mara North Conservancy known for its prolific wildlife.
Elephant Watch Camp is an eco-camp with close ties to the conservation charity, Save the Elephants founded by Dr Iain Douglas-Hamilton. A stay here gives you a real insight into modern day conservation; you will be able to visit the charity's research centre, close to camp, speak with experts in elephant conservation, learn about the day to day work of the charity and hear about the latest developments in the battle against poachers. We have close ties with the charity and the camp donating more than £17,000 to date to save the Elephants. Kicheche is part of The Mara North conservancy, a partnership between eleven member camps and over 800 Maasai landowners. Their aim is to create a best practise, world class conservancy with long term commitments to the environment, wildlife and local communities. During your stay you may well see the predator proof bomas which Kicheche, through their safari camps, has raised funds to build.Plan My Journey Speak To Us
