This incredible private tour takes you to Sigiriya, Dambulla, Polonnaruwa, Kandy, Gal Oya National Park, Yala National Park, Sinharaja Reserve and Galle staying in luxury accommodation throughout.

You have your own private English-speaking tour guide for the duration and you start your tour with the main cultural highlights of this fascinating and beautiful country. Highlights include: the world famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the Dambulla Cave temple, Polonnaruwa, Kandy and the Temple of the Tooth Relic. You then head into the countryside where you can see the wild elephants swim at Gal Oya National Park, enjoy a leopard spotting safari in Yala National Park and visit the elephant rescue centre at Udawalawe before exploring the rainforest of the Sinharaja Reserve, You then head to the coast and some R&R at Galle where you can enjoy an incredible whale watching tour.

You stay in luxury accommodation throughout including colonial style 5 star hotels, modern resorts and eco-lodges.

You will visit several national parks which are home to conservation projects on the Sri Lankan leopard and the Asian elephant

Safari Itinerary


Arrive in Colombo International Airport where you will be met and transferred to Kotugoda and your hotel, the Wallawwa. Rest of day at leisure to relax in the gardens of this beautiful colonial manor house.

DAY 2 - 4

Sigiriya, Ritigalala and Polonnaruwa
Today you head into the Cultural Triangle of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya that date back to the C4th. After checking in to the Aliya Resort in Sigiriya you will visit the Minneriya National Park on a jeep safari to see the wild Asian elephants. The following day you head off into the Ritigalala nature reserve in a stunning mountain range. Visit the monastery ruins also found there. Afterwards visit the world famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress. on Day 4 you enjoy an early morning bird tour before heading to Polonnaruwa which was once a medieval capital with lots of ancient sites and temples.

DAY 5 - 7

Dambulla and Kandy
Today head to the Dambulla Cave Temple complex full of unique sculptures and murals and a UNESCO world heritage site. You then head to Kandy where you will spending the next few days. Wander around the lake and botanical gardens before visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic. You also have a day of leisure to do your own exploring here.

  • From £3,830 to £4,305 per person sharing (low season Nov - mid Dec 2018 and high season Christmas and New Year 2018/2019). Travel available year round.

Flight costs from the UK range between £795 - £1,200 per person  depending on the time of year you travel.
