Tanzania Wildlife Week

A private safari with your own 4x4 and driver/guide staying in a lovely mix of tented camps and lodges in Northern Tanzania including Lake Manyara, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire.

This is a great safari for a first-time visit to Tanzania, visiting many iconic landscapes and giving you the chance to see a huge diversity of wildlife.

Accommodation is very varied - from a rustic tented camp in Tarangire with a superb view, to a luxurious escarpment lodge overlooking Lake Manyara.

Take your time: add at extra night in the Serengeti, and/or Lake Manyara - ask for a tailormade quote.

This safari would pair exceptionally well with an extension to the beaches of Zanzibar.

The Real Africa Trust works with leading conservation organisations to raise awareness as well as raising funds for specific projects. Partners include Save the Elephants, Save the Rhino, The Sheldrick Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana and Animals saving Animals. You can find out more on our Conservation pages. On behalf of every client travelling, Real Africa makes a donation to the Trust.

Safari Itinerary

On arrival in Kilimanjaro Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

After breakfast you leave for Tarangire National Park arriving in time for lunch with a game drive en-route. This is classic Africa with shimmering acacia stands, old baobab trees and herds of elephant. Your rustic camp was the first in Tarangire and retains much of its charm - the view is just superb - we love nothing more than sitting on the tent deck and watching the elephant and zebra come and go at the river below.

DAY 3-4

Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast depart for Karatu in the Ngorongoro Highlands, with a packed lunch and enjoy a game drive in Tarangire en route. The next day you'll be up early to make the most of a full day in the Ngorongoro Crater, with a picnic lunch, exploring in detail this fascinating wildlife amphitheatre. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly 25,000 animals. We like to picnic around the hippo lagoon and spend the day exploring the varied habitats on the floor of the crater, some 600m below the rim.
