Built on one of the most breathtaking beaches on the east coast of Mauritius, The Residence re-creates the style and elegance of the turn-of-the-century colonial mansions that existed in Mauritius in the 1920's - a perfect combination of bygone charms and modern comfort. The use of delicate shades of beige, tropical hardwoods and antiques discovered in remote provinces of Asia embody ultimate refinement.
Spacious rooms and suites are exquisitely furnished, having king size or twin beds, marble bathrooms and a large balcony, patio or terrace. There's a wide choice of room-types from Colonial Garden View, Ocean View and Ocean Front Rooms, to Garden View Junior & Senior Suites, Ocean View Suites and Ocean Front Suites. These range in size from 54m² for the Garden View Rooms to 164m² for the Ocean View Suites. All rooms and suites benefit from personal butler service.
Three restaurants offer a wide choice of cuisine on which the hotel prides itself. The Dining Room, made entirely of local wood, uses local produce of the island and overlooking the pool and sea serves long leisurely breakfasts and fine dining in the evening. The Verandah serves tasty lunchtime snacks and salads poolside while The Plantation has a spectacular setting and offers the freshest seafood and Creole cuisine in the oceanfront plantation house where guests also enjoy live entertainment and sega performances several times per week.
At the heart of the hotel lies The Sanctuary Spa, a centre of relaxation and well-being. There are 9 treatment rooms where your mind and body will be rejuvenated and transformed using products by the prestigious French brand, Carita.
In the tropical gardens, the large, spacious Planters Kids Club is open from 9am to 10pm daily and operated by a young and specially-trained team who run fun and interesting activities for children. The resort features a huge range of water and land sports - most of which are complimentary to guests.
