This gorilla tracking experience travels to and from Bwindi by road in your own private 4x4 vehicle with driver/guide. Although the initial drive is quite long, there are plenty of interesting stops along the way including the equator. On your return, you will break the journey with an overnight visit to Lake Mburo National Park. You'll have chances to see zebra, various antelope, giraffe, buffalo and hippo among others. There are also a wide variety of birds to look out for. In addition, you will enjoy a boat ride on the lake – watch out for the crocodiles. All-in-all, an action-packed few days and perfect for those short on time.
The Real World Conservation Trust works with leading conservation organisations to raise awareness as well as raising funds for specific projects through our Explorers Against Extinction campaign. You can find out more about our exciting current projects on our Conservation pages including how we raised almost £60k for African Parks and Flora and Fauna International. Previous partners have included Save the Elephants, Save the Rhino, The Sheldrick Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana and Animals saving Animals. On behalf of every client travelling, Real Africa makes a donation to the Trust. Our aim is to raise awareness about the plight of endangered species and to promote sustainable, socially responsible travel which benefits the wildlife and communities you choose to visit. For example, the money from your gorilla trekking permit goes straight back into the national park and preserving the habitat as well as anti-poaching efforts and education programmes.
