This South African short break takes you to gorgeous tented safari camp with excellent game-viewing in the Makalali Conservancy in the Lowveld area of the Limpopo close to the Kruger National Park. Makalali’s bushveld, in contrast to those reserves directly adjacent to the Kruger, is a series of undulating hills that offer incredible viewpoints and panoramic views across the reserve. A mixture of wildlife has been re-introduced onto the reserve that includes lion, leopard, elephant, cheetah and rhino, making Makalali home to a rich diversity of animals that includes the ‘big five’. At the same time, the conservancy is involved in protecting endangered species.
Garonga is an exclusive tented safari camp. The camp has been designed to reflect the natural surroundings, with muted tones and thatched main lodge areas. You will have plenty of time to relax by the pool and doze on the terrace with sweeping views across the African landscape, eat outside under the African stars and enjoy a few sundowners around the camp fire as well as going on twice daily game drives to look for the Big Five.
