Victoria Falls is one of the great natural wonders of the world. Over 108 metres high, during the rainy season it has over 1,088 cubic metres of water falling off it every second. It is the largest falls anywhere in the world and the cloud of spray thrown up as the water crashes into the Zambezi gorges can be seen many miles away.
You can see the falls from either Livingstone in Zambia or Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, both offering numerous ways to view this incredible site; walkways, viewing platforms, boat trips, even helicopter and balloon rides.
The one way not to see it is by swimming! There is a small pool – the Devils pool on the Zambian side that is a natural pool protected from the edge by a small lip of rock. On average 1 person a year dies by falling over the edge while swimming here, but still people dive in.
